Jetski Safety Rules - Desportos Náuticos de Alvor
1. Conditions for Driving:
- Age Requirement: Participants must be 16 years or older to drive a jetski.
- Children: Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
- Licence: No licence is needed since this is a closed circuit rental, and all the safety measures are complied by Desportos Náuticos de Alvor.
- Health Restrictions: Not recommended for pregnant women or individuals with heart problems, musculoskeletal issues, or back problems.
- Substance Restrictions: Individuals under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or other illicit substances are not permitted to drive jetskis.
- Mandatory Lifejackets: Wearing lifejackets is mandatory. Desportos Náuticos de Alvor provides the necessary lifejackets.
- Safety Lanyard: The use of the safety lanyard is mandatory at all times while operating the jetski. If there's a rider swap with the passenger, the safety lanyard must be given to the new driver.
2. Operation and Circulation:
Slow Speed Zones: There's a corridor marked with yellow bouys, connecting the beach to the circuit.
Circulation inside the corridor, must be done at slow speed always inbetween the yellow markers.
Circuit Boundaries: Jetskis must operate within the designated closed circuit, marked by 3 orange buoys, 300 meters off the coast.
Safety Distance: A minimum safety distance of 50 meters between jetskis must be maintained, at all times.
Anti-Clockwise Direction: Once at the circuit, ride in an anti-clockwise direction as instructed. All jetskis must riding on the same direction.
Return to Corridor: Upon receiving a signal from the safety boat staff, return to the designated corridor.
Assistance on Beach: Wait for assistance from the beach staff, who will guide you safely off the jet ski.
3. Navigation Circuit
1. Start from the beach
2. Drive slowly between the yellow marks
3. When reaching the circuit start riding on a anti-clockwise direction.
4. Once the staff member on the safety boat calls, drive back to the corridor.
5. Wait for the staff on the beach , they will assist you to come off the jetski.

4. Prohibited Conduct:
- Racing: Racing and side-by-side riding are strictly prohibited.
- Passing: If overtaking is needed, make sure to leave a distance between jetskis over 50m. Wide turn around the other jetkis.
5. Compliance with Instructions:
- Monitor Instructions: Participants must follow all instructions given by the safety boat monitors and staff members.
6. Violation of Rules:
- Consequences: Failure to comply with these rules will result in the immediate deactivation and removal of the jetskis.
7. Electronic Devices:
- Responsibility: Desportos Náuticos de Alvor is not responsible for damage to electronic devices such as mobile phones, cameras, and video cameras during activities.
8. Booking and Cancellation Policy:
- Running Late: Please contact us as soon as possible if you are running late. We will do our best to accommodate and reschedule your booking. If no contact is made, a 15-minute grace period is provided. After this period, your booking will be rescheduled to the end of the waiting list. Fees may apply for no-shows.
- Refunds: Refunds are generally not provided for late arrivals or no-shows. Exceptions may apply under certain circumstances, which should be discussed with our customer service team.
